Originating in the centuries-old Talavera tradition of Puebla, Mexico, this form known as a tibor pinaculo was historically displayed in the grandest hacienda salons as a statement of taste and wealth. Each section is individually wheel-thrown and hand-painted by artisan ceramicists, then joined and fired to achieve the characteristic high-gloss majolica finish. Ornate silverwork banding and hand-twisted rope handles frame the vessel's tiered silhouette, elevating it from decorative object to heirloom. Certified one-of-a-kind, no two pieces from this tradition are ever identical.
