Art Tuna
Prickly pear paddles explode across the canvas in a riot of cobalt, magenta, saffron, and violet — each pad rendered with its own distinct texture and luminosity against a deep indigo ground. This original southwestern artwork reimagines the iconic Sonoran Desert tuna cactus through a boldly expressive, color-saturated lens that feels equally rooted in the landscape and in pure artistic invention. The layered brushwork gives each pad a tactile presence, as though the paint itself carries the weight and warmth of the desert sun. A one-of-a-kind artisan piece signed by the artist, it brings the spirit of the Southwest into sharp, joyful focus at 30 x 40 inches.
