Equipale Counterstool 24"

Sale price$859.00

Rich tobacco-toned leather wraps a deep barrel seat and curved backrest, each panel hand-stitched along the seam in the tradition of the Mexican equipale — one of the oldest chair forms in North America, rooted in pre-Columbian craft. The cylindrical base is woven from split tejocote wood and natural reed strips, lashed together with leather cord in an interlocking lattice that is as structural as it is artisan. Vertical ocote poles frame the back, left in their natural state to preserve the texture and character of the wood. This handcrafted Mexican furniture piece brings authentic hacienda style presence to a kitchen island, cantina-style bar, or southwestern-inspired gathering space.
