Caballo Balam Oxido
Aged charcoal and gold patina sweep across this hand-cast horse sculpture, its surface worn to suggest centuries of history — saddle blanket folds, studded bridle details, and a curled tail rendered with the precision of an artisan's hand. Inspired by the iconic Tang Dynasty horse tradition, where equine figures symbolized power, nobility, and the afterlife journey, this piece carries that same quiet authority into a contemporary interior. The oxidized finish shifts from deep iron-black to warm bronze depending on the light, making it a one-of-a-kind accent that reads beautifully against reclaimed wood, Spanish Colonial furnishings, or southwestern textiles. Mounted on a flat base, it displays with ease on a console, mantle, or tabletop.
