Caballo Calado OxidoAntiguo Extra Large
Every inch of this extra-large hand-carved horse is alive with detail — cascading acanthus leaves, pierced latticework, and an elaborately sculpted saddle emerge from the rich oxidized finish like something unearthed from a colonial estate. The calavado (pierced carving) technique is a hallmark of Mexican artisan woodcraft, requiring skilled hands to hollow and shape each decorative element without compromising the integrity of the form. The deep antique oxide patina gives the piece a timeworn gravitas that suits hacienda style, Spanish Colonial, and southwestern interiors alike. At this scale, it commands attention on a console, entry table, or hearth, anchoring a room the way only a one-of-a-kind handcrafted piece can.
