Caballo Gordo Black
A rotund, saddled horse rendered in cast bronze with a rich verdigris patina tells the story of centuries-old Pre-Columbian ceramic traditions, where the stylized "fat horse" form carried symbolic weight in Mesoamerican artisan culture. The deliberately exaggerated, bulbous body and expressive upturned head give this piece a folk-art vitality that no mass-produced object can replicate. Surface textures shift from deep ebony to oxidized green across the hand-finished bronze, rewarding close inspection from every angle. At home on a hacienda-style console, a Spanish Colonial sideboard, or a southwestern-inspired study, this one-of-a-kind sculptural accent anchors a room with quiet, ancient authority.
