Cabinet Circa 1610

Sale price$5,975.00

Bold diamond-point panels rise across all four doors of this early 17th-century French Renaissance cabinet, a hand-carved geometry rooted in the architectural stonework of the period translated masterfully into walnut and oak. A carved frieze crowns the upper case, centered by a sculpted portrait mask flanked by scrolling foliate relief — the hallmark of Renaissance artisan workshops active in Burgundy and the Loire Valley circa 1610. Two shallow drawers separate the upper and lower cases, each fitted with turned iron pulls, while carved console brackets punctuate the case sides with additional sculptural depth. Four centuries of patina have deepened the wood to a warm amber that no modern finish can replicate, and the original lock hardware remains intact on the upper doors. A one-of-a-kind European antique of this age and integrity is exceptionally rare to find at Fiesta Furnishings in Scottsdale.
