The upper cabinet's octagonal medallion doors, framed by dentil cornicing and a bold projecting cornice above, speak to the rigorous geometry that defined early 17th-century European antique craftsmanship. A richly carved frieze of scrollwork and floral bosses separates the two tiers, while the lower cabinet's bold bun feet ground the piece with characteristic period weight.
