The lower buffet features deeply molded raised-panel doors, three carved center drawers, and original iron ring pulls, all riding atop a serpentine apron and cabriole feet that speak to the Louis XV influence pervasive in 18th-century provincial cabinetry. Nearly 270 years of use have only deepened the warmth of the oak, its honey-blond patina the kind that cannot be manufactured.
