Swirling clouds of blush, ivory, and deep russet move across the surface of this hand-carved Mexican onyx candleholder, each mineral vein as singular as a fingerprint. Quarried from the mineral-rich deposits of central Mexico, onyx has been prized since pre-Columbian times for its translucency — when lit from within, the stone glows with a warm, honeyed light that no manufactured material can replicate. Artisan-turned on a lathe and finished by hand, the cylindrical form is deceptively simple, allowing the natural patterning of the stone to command full attention. A one-of-a-kind piece for a hacienda-style interior, a Spanish Colonial foyer, or any space where natural materials are treated with the respect they deserve.
