Painting Original Mattingly Painting
A domed bell tower rises against a sun-washed sky, its weathered stone walls flanked by cascading bougainvillea and wildflowers rendered in rich reds, purples, and golds — the unmistakable palette of Spanish Colonial California. This large-format original oil painting captures the timeless architecture of a California mission with the loose, luminous brushwork of plein air tradition, giving the canvas both warmth and depth. The terracotta rooflines, arched doorways, and courtyard light speak directly to the hacienda style sensibility that defines the finest southwestern interiors. A one-of-a-kind work, it brings the weight of history and the beauty of artisan craft to any wall it occupies.
