Talavera Plate Large Plate
A deep cobalt rim frames an intricate burst of hand-painted florals, geometric stars, and scrolling acanthus leaves rendered in saffron, terracotta, teal, and ivory — each motif applied by an artisan's brush without the aid of stencils or transfers. This large Talavera plate embodies a tradition rooted in 16th-century Puebla, Mexico, where Spanish Moorish and indigenous ceramic techniques fused into one of the most recognized folk art forms in the Americas. The high-gloss lead-free glaze deepens the richness of the palette and gives the surface its characteristic luminosity. Equally at home displayed on a wall, propped on a plate stand, or as a dramatic centerpiece on a dining table, this one-of-a-kind piece brings authentic Mexican artisan craft into any hacienda-style or southwestern interior.
