Tin Cross
Polished tin catches the light across every hand-repoussé curve of this freestanding Mexican cross, its surface alive with scrolling acanthus motifs, raised dot-work borders, and pierced floral medallions radiating from each arm. The craft tradition — hojalatería, the centuries-old Mexican art of decorative tinwork — reached its height in the colonial workshops of Oaxaca and San Miguel de Allende, where artisans elevated a humble material into devotional objects of remarkable intricacy. Mounted on a stepped tin base, it stands independently and displays equally well on a console, altar shelf, or entry table. Each piece is shaped and embossed by hand, ensuring no two are identical — a genuine one-of-a-kind expression of Mexican artisan craft.
